"Chronic Lullabies" is a album that explores having to deal with chronic pain. How it affects your day to day life, your mental state and perspective of life over the long years that you deal with the pain. It is a dark and very personal album for me, and if you know me and my struggles in real life or can relate in any way it might very well be for you too.

Musically the album is influenced by ambient and drone music such as Brian Eno and Stars Of The Lid just like my previous projects, but it is also influenced by genres such as post-rock and lo-fi with a much heavier focus on guitar then my previous efforts. The lo-fi influence you can hear mostly in the production choices, especially the guitar as it was recorded with background noises from the amp and in an overall lower sound quality then the rest.

It is the biggest project I have ever worked with and over time this project has become so personal that I was afraid to put it out. It has been in the works for close to a year now, but the most work was done in June, July and August this year. What became so personal for me were the audio samples of me speaking about how I feel. These were taken when I really just needed to get my thoughts out and since I can't sing I instead recorded them as "spoken word" samples. Production wise I chose to make these samples less audible then the instruments as I didn't want it to take the focus away from the ambience, but rather be just another background noise and therefore not the main focus of the record.

To live everyday with chronic pain changes how you see everything in life as you try to learn how to live with it. Some of these songs were made at some of my darkest moments in life, when I really struggled with the pain and searched for comfort in music. I hope this album can help others to find comfort during their difficult times and know that they are not alone in their battle.
